Parts Advisor

Dean Cooley GM currently has an employment opportunity in our Parts Department as a Parts Consultant. This person, reporting to Parts Manager will have the primary job of providing service and parts support for service technician, while also providing a high level of customer service to counter retail clients. Experience in parts or someone who is mechanically inclined is an asset.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Selling parts at Parts Counter, Certified Service Express, and Service/Collision desks
  • Maintaining a high level of service to internal customers and retail customers
  • Daily shipping and receiving of parts or as required
  • Stocking shelves and organize inventory on a daily basis
  • Answering Department phones/paging
  • Demonstrating good judgment and reasoning in identifying and solving problems
  • Ensuring required records are prepared in an accurate and timely manner i.e. – Repair Orders, Parts Invoices, Purchase Orders, Shipping & Receiving documents
  • Collecting and receipting payment on all parts before they leave the Parts Department
  • Meeting or exceeding the Company’s customer satisfaction requirements
  • Striving for harmony and cooperation with all departments
  • Maintaining a clean counter area and assisting in keeping department neat and clean
  • Performing other job related duties as required
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of computer systems used by department and demonstrate a willingness to increase computer knowledge through training when required
  • Participating in all required training programs
  • Working as a team to accomplish the overall Company goals and objectives
  • Displaying a positive attitude toward customers and co-workers at all time

Finance and Insurance Manager

Dean Cooley GM is a Chevrolet, Buick and GMC dealer that operates in Dauphin, MB but serves the Parkland area. Our dealership also has a full after sales suite that includes service, parts, accessories and collision centre. We are looking for a finance and insurance manager to join our team. If you are a person who wants to build a long term career while leveraging your sales experience and passion for the automotive industry, you may be the perfect fit for our team.

The Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the finance and insurance process at Dean Cooley GM. This role requires a blend of financial acumen, sales expertise, and customer service skills to ensure a seamless vehicle purchasing experience for our customers. The F&I Manager will work closely with sales teams, financial institutions, and customers to secure financing, educate and offer insurance products, as well as ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations:

  • Complete credit analysis to determine course of action necessary to meet bank requirements
  • Secure financing options for customers by working with various financial institutions
  • Negotiate terms and interest rates to best suit customer needs
  • Prepare and review all financial paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, provincial and local laws

Asset and Personal Protection

  • Present and educate customers on the benefits of credit protection, warranty beyond the manufacturer’s coverage and GM pre-paid maintenance
  • Educate customers on the benefits and options of various insurance products

Customer Interaction:

  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the financing and insurance process.
  • Conduct interviews with customers to assess their needs and preferences
  • Follow up with customers in a way that works best for them
  • Commit to the dealership brand and core values
  • Address customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection and privacy standards
  • Ensure all transactions are documented accurately and stored securely

Sales Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to maximize profitability and enhance the customer purchasing experience
  • Assist in training staff on finance and insurance products and procedures

Reporting and Analysis

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to finance and insurance sales
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Review and analyze actions regularly to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.


  • Strong understanding of financial principles, lending practices and insurance practices
  • Proven track record in sales and customer service
  • Results-oriented and accountable for all aspects of the department
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in financial related software, dealership management systems and computer software such as Microsoft office
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexible and open to change with initiative to take on special tasks as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Able to be provincially licensed as recognized by the MVDA
