Dean Cooley and his family moved to Dauphin to take over the dealership on May 1st in 1995. Since that time a lot has happened. Twice the dealership has achieved triple crown status, General Motors' most prestigious award that is awarded only to those dealers who finish at the top in combined sales volume and customer satisfaction. In 2004, Dean built a brand new, state of the art facility with the idea of further growing his business and better serving his customers. Dean is a proud contributor to the community of Dauphin, as well as the surrounding communities. He takes great pride in making not just Dauphin but the Parkland a better place for the generations that follow. Dean, his wife Karen, their son Jordan, and daughter Taylor all work at this family-owned dealership. Dean enjoys enjoys hockey in the winter and the cottage in the summer.

Alyson has been an integral part of Dean Cooley GM since 2013. Officially, she holds the title of Business Development Manager, though she jokingly refers to herself as the “everything else manager” due to her dynamic role within the dealership. A true farm kid at heart, Alyson was born and raised in Dauphin, MB. Despite predictions that she would end up in a big city, she found her way back to the area and now resides on a farm where she and her family grow wheat, canola, and soybeans. She shares her home with her partner in crime Tyson, their son Tennyson, and their three beloved indoor cats—Rolly, Blue, and Chip. Alyson’s educational background includes studies in social sciences and business, but her love for learning has led her to explore a wide variety of disciplines. From operating forklifts to making tacos to leading teams, she believes that every new skill contributes to her well-rounded expertise. What Alyson enjoys most about her job is the variety it brings—no two days are ever the same. She thrives on problem-solving, whether it’s troubleshooting technology, developing marketing strategies, strengthening customer relationships, finding the right new team member, or simply being there for someone who needs support. Her favorite part of her role is working alongside a dedicated team that shares a commitment to excellence, innovation, and success. Passionate about agricultural awareness and supporting local businesses, Alyson is an advocate for promoting community initiatives. Alyson has always been deeply involved in her community. She served on the board of the Dauphin and District (now Parkland) Chamber of Commerce for over a decade, including seven years on the executive committee and three years as president where she won the Executive Committee Award for Outstanding Service to a Local Chamber of Commerce and its Community from the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce. She has also contributed to Dauphin’s Economic Development and Tourism board, the Downtown Development Committee, and has dedicated two decades to 4-H as both a member and leader. Additionally, she has helped inspire young entrepreneurs by teaching business basics through the Junior Achievement program in local elementary schools. These days, she’s taking a well-earned step back from volunteering to focus on making memories with her family and enjoying the adventures that come with it. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and crafting homemade products from scratch—whether that’s raising chickens for eggs, making her own spice blends, or even refining canola oil. Travel is another of her great loves, and she makes it a point to truly immerse herself in the cultures of the countries she visits. Whether it’s trying new and unique foods, experiencing local traditions, or seeking out hidden gems off the beaten path, she embraces every opportunity to learn and connect. Sharing these experiences with her son Tennyson is one of her greatest joys, as she fosters his curiosity and love for adventure through their travels together. Of course, she never forgets to check out a new zipline in every country they explore! Whether she’s supporting her team, strengthening her community, or exploring new horizons, Alyson approaches everything with passion, adaptability, and an adventurous spirit. She thrives on challenges, finds joy in connections, and is always ready for the next exciting chapter—wherever it may take her.

Taylor is the Marketing Coordinator at Dean Cooley GM and has been part of the team since May 2021. Born and raised in Dauphin, she moved to Winnipeg after graduation to further her education before returning home.While in Winnipeg, Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and a Business Administration Diploma with a major in Marketing from Red River College. She loves that her role keeps her learning and challenged, and she enjoys finding creative ways to connect customers with the perfect vehicle. Outside of work, Taylor makes the most of the outdoors—whether it’s spending time at the lake, golfing, biking, or hiking the Northgate trails.

Abbey is an Administrative Clerk here at DCGM. Abbey joined our team full-time in May 2021 but previously worked with us for 5 years when she was a student! She is originally from Ashville and now lives in Dauphin with her husband Taylor. Abbey earned her Business Administration diploma with a major in Accounting from Assiniboine Community College here in Dauphin. She then continued her education at Brandon University in the Business Administration program. Her favorite part of her job is that she is able to continuously learn new skills and she enjoys working in a team environment. When Abbey isn't at work you can find her at the curling rink, camping, or hiking the Northgate Trails.

Meet Karen! Karen is an Administrative Clerk at Dean Cooley GM and has been a valued part of the team since April 2024. Originally from the Philippines, she now lives in Dauphin with her two daughters. With a background in both the car dealership and travel & tours industry, Karen brings a wealth of experience in customer service and organization. She is passionate about food and travel and loves helping newcomers settle into the community through volunteer work. Her favorite part of the job? Interacting with customers and providing excellent service. When she’s not at work, you can find her relaxing at home or spending time at the Recreation Center. A fun fact about Karen—before moving to Canada, she was a tour organizer and guide in the Philippines, sharing her love for travel with others! Her warm personality and dedication make her a wonderful part of the Dean Cooley GM team.
